Answers to some questions on Stress

In the earlier days, stress got triggered by our brain as a response to nearby threats so that we can either fight it or escape from it. But in modern times (obviously current time), we have many activities (job, exams, etc) which our brain reads/takes as constant threats. Guess what, the stress levels are always high as a result. I will be answering some of most commonly asked questions on S-T-R-E-S-S.

How stress affects the body?

Stress releases ‘Cortisol’ in your body, the hormone that makes you alert instantly and fill you up with nervousness in a situation not good for you. But, it is meant for a shorter period of time. Prolonged stress means a constant release of Cortisol. It will then lower the testosterone levels in men, the muscle mass will decrease eventually with time, you are much likely to gain fat, dark circles will appear and skin quality will deteriorate. You will become weaker with time and will be left with lower to no sex drive. Runaway from stress as it really can make you ugly my brothers. That is scary!

How stress affects the immune system?

Stress releases ‘Cortisol’ in your body, but prolonged stress means a constant release of Cortisol, which does lower the testosterone levels in men. Testosterone is responsible for muscular growth, beauty and well being of Men’s health. Lower testosterone levels will eventually lower the immunity power in men gradually with time. Lower testosterone makes a man weak and fatigued and this kind of symptoms also shows up when the immune system is weaker than normal in an individual. Thus, you should definitely keep yourself away from stress as much as possible no matter whether you are a man or woman, constant stress is a killer for everyone.

Are stress and anxiety related?

Stress is a short term response to a nearby threat, but prolonged stress about various things in ones life can trigger anxiety which is a health condition. So understand this thing, stress is an event and not a disorder/disease but supposed to be short term, and anxiety is a health condition develops due to prolonged period of stress. Now, if you have anxiety, it can lead to increased heart rate, sweating, nervousness, weakness, low sex drive and all these symptoms can left you worrying about you health and lead to another by product which is stress. So now you see how they are related and why you should keep S-T-R-E-S-S away from yourself as much as possible.

Can stress kill you?

Stress is being faced by almost everyone today. I feel so bad that even the teenagers, in their age to enjoy the things at fullest go through constant stress due to hectic work given by schools and recurring examinations almost every month. Stress can trigger anxiety which as a health condition, causes heart problems, forgetfulness, depression social nervousness and in severe cases, cancer. Most of the cases of death related to stress are suicidal deaths. However, one can also die due to hypertension and heath issues.

That is too much serious talk and I will not go further on stress as talking about stress can also give you stress. There is only one thing that you should do is to enjoy every possible moment you can, as no one can guarantee you that there will be another day. Tomorrow is a myth, the current moment is what you have.

Stay Awesome!
